The completion of the first phase of the Rail Baltic railway could be delayed by three to five years, said Māris Dzelme, chairman of the board of Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas (EDzL, European Railway Lines), the company leading the construction of the Latvian part of the project. He said that a lack of funds is preventing the railway from being completed by the end of 2030.
