The Congress of the State approved the so-called "Amparito Act" which creates the crime of homicide or injury by animal attack and provides for four to eight years in prison for those responsible, with aggravation when the victims are vulnerable persons, a few days after the death of a 84-year-old woman attacked by five dogs -two pit bull - in a public park in Mexicali.
