Emmanuel Macron received on Friday the President of the Congo, an old ally of France, who has accumulated forty years in power. While in Brazzaville a political opponent, Lassy Mbouity, received death threats, after having been abducted and sequestered for several days.

The president of Congo-Brazzaville, Denis Sassou-Nguesso, starts a two-day working visit to France. On Friday 23 May, he must be received at the Elysée by Emmanuel Macron who also dined Thursday evening with the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, on the occasion of his tour in Europe.
