A Columbia University study published this week suggests that since the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) introduced congestion pricing last year, some trucks and other vehicles may be taking major South Bronx highways, including the Cross Bronx Expressway and the Major Deegan Expressway, to avoid the Manhattan toll zone, thus exacerbating local air pollution.
