Conan O'Brien to return as Oscars host for the 3rd consecutive year

On Tuesday, Disney Upfront 2026 announced that Emmy Award-winning comedian Conan O'Brien will return to host the 99th Academy Awards, airing live on ABC and Hulu on Sunday, March 14, 2027.
O'Brien will become the first host to lead three consecutive ceremonies since Billy Crystal from 1990 to 1994, joined by returning executive producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan alongside producers Jeff Ross and Mike Sweeney.
Film Academy CEO Bill Kramer and president Lynette Howell Taylor said the team has produced "captivating, entertaining and heartfelt shows" over the last two years, calling them an "incredible team."
Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich stated O'Brien's "singular comedic voice" creates remarkable energy around the ceremony, as both the Oscars and Golden Globes have recently secured repeat hosts for stability.
The 99th Oscars will be the penultimate ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles; the awards will shift to the Peacock Theater and air on YouTube starting with the 101st edition in 2029.
