Comptroller Huffines distributes $1.4B in monthly sales tax revenue to local governments, calls for property tax relief

AUSTIN — Texas Comptroller Don Huffines said many cities and counties can reduce property taxes due to increased sales tax revenue as local governments will receive $1.4 billion in sales tax allocations for August, 13.6% more than in August 2025.
