Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt Says Family Is ‘Devastated’ over Texas Floods
TEXAS, JUL 9 – More than $15 million has been pledged by Texas businesses and organizations to support emergency aid and long-term recovery for communities affected by deadly Central Texas flooding.
- On Tuesday, officials confirmed over 100 deaths and 160 missing due to devastating floods in Central Texas, impacting Kerrville and nearby areas.
- The floods affected local families deeply, including FC Dallas leaders Clark Hunt and Dan Hunt, whose eight-year-old relative Janie Hunt was among the victims.
- Numerous organizations and companies, including sports teams and businesses, pledged funds and resources to support immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts.
- Donations include $1.5 million from NFL teams, $5 million from the Butt Foundation and H-E-B each, $1 million from James Avery Jewelry and Todd Graves, plus Verizon and AT&T contributions and in-kind support.
- These combined efforts aim to provide emergency shelter, mental health support, cleanup, and community rebuilding while honoring those lost and aiding families in recovery.
