Community-built map tracks ICE activity across Tucson, Arizona

Hundreds of contributors have logged more than 300 confirmed or credible incidents as advocates say the map makes federal enforcement visible.

  • Tucson advocates launched The Tucson Migra Map to visualize federal immigration enforcement as arrests surge under President Donald Trump's mass deportation initiative, with detentions in fiscal year 2025 surpassing more than 800.
  • Rapid Response members maintain the database, which currently includes around 300 vetted incidents from a review of 562 total reports as of late April. Meyer said events are categorized as "confirmed" or "credible but unconfirmed" based on evidence.
  • Records include a December raid at a Taco Giro location where House Rep. Adelita Grijalva was pepper sprayed by federal agents. Activist Lucia Vindiola of Bodega said enforcement creates "chaos" for families limiting them from shopping for groceries.
  • Similar tracking initiatives were previously shuttered by host site Padlet for content violations. Meyer hopes the Constitution's protection of free speech will shield his project from the fate of other offline sites like ICEBlock.
