The process of restructuring the Lisa imposed by the Government was contrary to "principles guaranteed by the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic", defended the Coordinator of the Commissions of Workers of Lisbon.
As a protest against the changes decided unilaterally by the Government, a partial strike is marked for this Friday and workers' concentration in Lisbon and Porto.
Trade union delegates and members of workers' organizations ask political parties to review the news agency's statutes, which were recently amended. The Ministry of the Presidency says that the changes it promoted allow Lusa to be “more professionalized” and “less governmentalized”
