LPG Cylinder Rate Today After Price Hike: Check Updated Gas Rates in Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai From 1 April
Commercial cylinder rates rose after global oil prices jumped almost 50% from West Asia conflict, while household LPG prices stayed unchanged, officials said.
- On Wednesday, commercial LPG cylinder prices in New Delhi increased by Rs 195.5, following a surge in global oil prices linked to the widening conflict in West Asia.
- The conflict in West Asia intensified after joint US-Israeli strikes on February 28 killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, disrupting global energy supply chains and causing oil prices to surge nearly 50 per cent.
- Aviation Turbine Fuel prices more than doubled to a record Rs 2.07 lakh per kilolitre on Wednesday, while domestic cooking LPG rates remain unchanged at Rs 913 per 14.2-kg cylinder.
- The Union government made an ad hoc allocation of Public Distribution System kerosene on Sunday as a 60-day emergency measure and urged consumers to switch to piped natural gas to ease pressure on LPG supplies.
- India imports about 60% of its LPG demand, mostly from Gulf countries, where conflict-driven disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz threaten energy security and fuel availability.
