Following an investigation, the U.S. Department of Commerce found that Chinese-made anode graphite (a key raw material for battery manufacturing) was being sold in the U.S. at below fair market prices. Novonix Graphite Materials, a Tennessee-based company, confirmed on Thursday (February 12) that the Department of Commerce had decided to impose a 93.5% anti-dumping duty and a 67% countervailing duty on imported graphite from China.
