One hundred years ago today, on 28 July 1925, the French Naturalist artist Léon Augustin Lhermitte (1844–1925) died. I resume my brief account of his career and art at the start of the 1890s, when he had stated on canvas the links between the Naturalist art movement and contemporary scientific thought.
