The Comal County Commissioners Court convened Thursday morning, Aug. 14, where they approved a motion to instate a burn ban beginning Aug. 15 at 6 a.m.

Comal County Issues Burn Ban, Fire Marshal Describes 'Pretty Dangerous Situation'

Comal County commissioners issued a burn ban for unincorporated areas at their weekly meeting today, Aug. 14. It goes into effect 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15. The Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) stands at 514 and is climbing daily. By law, counties must implement an order prohibiting all outdoor burning when the drought index exceeds 500 points.
