Columbia Heights advances flavored tobacco ban, plan to phase out tobacco licenses citywide

With more than 340 written comments and sharply divided testimony from business owners and residents, Columbia Heights on Nov. 10 unanimously, 4-0, advanced an ordinance that aims to ban flavored tobacco and phase out tobacco sales citywide.

SSM plans to restrict flavored tobacco

The Health Bureau announced plans to revise smoking regulations based on the 2021–2023 Tobacco Control Assessment, aiming to ban new tobacco products, imitation tobacco, and re-emerging tobacco items.
