Colombian security forces have moved into the southwestern municipality of Silvia following a violent territorial dispute between two Indigenous groups.
The two villages are disputed over a territory of 800 hectares. The national government offers itself as a mediator in the conflict.
The dispute between the Misak and Nasa peoples is linked to the land.
At least six people died and more than 100 were injured in clashes over territorial boundaries between the Misak and Nasa indigenous peoples of Colombia in the department of Cauca, Colombian Defense Minister Pedro Sánchez confirmed early this morning.
