Members of the Federal Government and the Federal President can use machines of the Bundeswehr for official official operations. For this, the aircraft often start from Cologne - at first without passengers. The left speaks of a "deep design error".

In the second half of 2025, the Bundeswehr's readiness to fly carried out more flights without government representatives than with them. This is shown by figures from the Ministry of Defence – and raises questions about efficiency.
