Tough negotiations in the civil service

It is about incomes and working hours of more than 2.5 million employees. It is negotiated on the basis of a conciliation statement. Nevertheless, the discussions are tough.

For more than 2.5 million employees at the federal and local authorities, money and working time are at stake. There is already a compromise statement. But the negotiations are taking place.

There is no further breakthrough in the collective bargaining round for the 2.5 million employees of the federal and local authorities. Negotiations are constructive, but they are not yet ready to be concluded, it said.

Trade unions and employers sit at the negotiating table again after the conciliation statement. Without agreement there are permanent strikes at daycare centres, clinics or airports.

In Potsdam, the decisive negotiations in the collective bargaining conflict favour more than 2.5 million employees of the federal and local authorities. The conciliators propose a two-stage increase in the wage, but the unions demand more than that. A failure of the talks could lead to permanent strikes.

In the collective dispute of the public service the final round has begun. In Potsdam employers and trade unions advise on the recommendation of the conciliators. It foresees a wage increase of 5.8 percent in two stages.
