Girlfriend Charged with Murder, Identity Theft 18 Years After Woman’s Body Was Found Missing Hands, Feet, and Head
Angel Marie Thompson faces charges for murdering her girlfriend and fraudulently collecting over $200,000 in government benefits by assuming her identity for eight years, authorities said.
- On Aug. 12, 2025, Angel Marie Thompson was arrested in Sandy Springs, Georgia, charged with murder and two counts of identity theft, nearly two decades after dismembered remains were found.

- Prosecutors allege Angel Marie Thompson assumed Nicole Alston’s identity, collecting over 139,000 in benefits for eight years, and investigators found her body in a burning bag.
- Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said Angel Marie Thompson was booked into Fulton County Jail on Monday and ordered held without bond at her first court appearance on Tuesday.
