Govt Schools on Par with Private Schools in Quality Education: Telangana CM
The state opened three more schools with corporate-style facilities and ₹27,000 crore in education funding, officials said.
- On Wednesday, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Arutla Telangana Public School in Rangareddy district, a model institution designed to provide government students with infrastructure comparable to leading private and corporate educational institutions.
- This initiative, launching as a pilot project with four schools, aims to expand the model across Telangana with a target of establishing 100 Telangana Public Schools to improve government education quality.
- Currently, 1,814 students attend the Arutla campus, which offers nursery to Intermediate education. Reddy explained the schools aim to eradicate social evils, noting, "Decision allowed continuation of caste barriers which have to be brought down."
- Opposition parties, specifically the BRS, have criticized the project, with a former IPS officer alleging a ₹3,000 crore scandal in an indirect reference to BRS leader Praveen Kumar.
- The government established a sports university targeting gold medals in the 2034 Olympic games, with infrastructure for cricket, football, volleyball, tennis and kabadi created at the Arutla campus.
