Netflix Unveils Eyeline Studios in Hyderabad: A New Era for Indian VFX
The 32,000 sq ft Hyderabad hub expands Netflix Eyeline Studios' global network to five locations, enhancing VFX and virtual production capabilities, CEO Jeff Shapiro said.
- Netflix opened an Eyeline Studios VFX hub in Hyderabad, marked by a ribbon-cutting attended by actor-producer Rana Daggubati, establishing Eyeline as its global production and innovation studio in India.
- Driven by Netflix's recent local hits including Rana Naidu, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar and Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, the expansion follows its 2021 acquisition of Scanline VFX and last October's merger into the Eyeline brand.
- The Hyderabad facility spans 32,000 sq ft and is equipped for advanced virtual production, generative virtual effects, supported by a hybrid cloud infrastructure.
- Telangana's chief minister said Hyderabad is a 'natural home' for Netflix, and Daggubati noted the opening underscored how Hyderabad's creative industry had matured, highlighting local opportunities and talent.
- As the fifth Eyeline studio globally, Hyderabad joins Los Angeles, Vancouver, Seoul and London, adding a major player to a city where most Hollywood studios have small offices, Jeff Shapiro said.
