Patrick Sullivan, who was awake to feed his baby at 3:00 a.m. on a summer night, was sure that whoever played the horn of a nonstop car was a “crazy neighbor.”
Bears have been a problem this summer, as drought and food shortages in the Rocky Mountains have made them more of a problem than ever. They have been wandering into urban areas in search of food, entering and sometimes getting trapped in cars, searching through trash cans, and occasionally attacking people.
