Cleco Restores Power to 60% After Winter Storm Hits
CenterPoint Energy kept power for over 99% of its 2.9 million Houston-area customers while deploying 500+ contract crews to assist utilities in harder-hit states.
- CenterPoint sent more than 500 contract frontline electric workers to support response efforts in harder-hit areas, and reported that more than 99% of customers maintained power overnight, as of 4 p.m. on Jan. 25, 2026.
- As of September 30, 2025, the Emergency Operations Center mobilized a 2,800-person workforce, staged over 700 natural gas workers, and inspected all 270 electric substations amid wintry conditions.
- As of 4 p.m., approximately 2,000 customers are out, representing less than 1% of 2.9 million across 12 counties, and fewer than 30,000 have been restored since Saturday 6 a.m.
- Donating and positioning resources, CenterPoint is coordinating with government officials and has installed more than 20 emergency backup generators and inspected nearly 200 regulator stations.
