City plans ‘Hawai‘i America250’ celebrations honoring Oahu’s history, diversity | Honolulu Star-Advertiser

As Hawaii prepares to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary, Oahu’s celebrations will emphasize the island’s role in American history, its cultural diversity and the accomplishments of local leaders, athletes and entertainers who’ve influenced the nation and the world, city officials say.
