City of Sumpter to upgrade Community Center with $173K in federal funding

SUMPTER — The City of Sumpter is slated to receive $173,000 in federal funding to help with renovating the town’s Community Center. An announcement from U.S. Senators Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden states that upgrades to this central building are needed to keep the community safe and healthy in light of increased wildfire and smoke threats.
