Full Details of Surrey Christmas Train Changes Including Major Disruption at Waterloo
More than 350 engineers will renew tracks and upgrade power supply at London Waterloo, with no services on Christmas and Boxing Day and reduced timetables Dec 29 to Jan 4.

- Network Rail says the works are necessary to deliver long-term benefits despite short-term disruption, renewing track, switches and crossings, ballast and sleepers, and upgrading the electric power supply.
- All lines will close between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction on Saturday December 31 and no trains will run there on Sunday January 1, with many services starting or finishing at Clapham Junction, Wimbledon, or Woking.
- Passengers are urged to plan ahead and check before travelling as ticket acceptance on alternative routes is available, but replacement buses will lengthen journeys and trains finish by around 21:00.
- Timetables for revised services will be published from December 23 and details will be available on National Rail Enquiries and South Western Railway websites, with additional post-midnight trains from London Waterloo on New Year's Day early hours services.
