Iowa State men's basketball head coach T.J. Otzelberger confirmed freshman Christian Wiggins suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. The Minnesota native is expected to return next summer. The Cyclones also added five transfers, including former Northern Iowa guard Leon Bond III.

Iowa State basketball coach T.J. Otzelberger says freshman guard Christian Wiggins will miss the upcoming season after suffering an Achilles injury in summer workouts. The six-five guard was considered the top player in the state of Minnesota as a senior. Otzelberger says Wiggins was performing well in summer workouts when the injury occurred. Otzelberger says Wiggins made a quick adjustment to the college level.
