In August 2026, the packaging of several products was reduced again in Hungarian stores: Mondelez shrunk several Milka sweets, Lidl's ice creams and three Lay's chips became smaller, and at Penny the size of a salted caramel pretzel fell by more than 22 percent. The reduction in the size of Milka bars is nothing new; German consumer advocates have already sued the manufacturer for misleading packaging, and won in the first instance.
