The text, adopted unanimously, obliges the State to work for the clearance of land and compensation of victims, without making it an obligation. More than 90 per cent of the adult population of the West Indies is contaminated by this pesticide.
On Tuesday 2 June Parliament is to adopt a law recognizing the "share of responsibility" of the state in poisoning the West Indies, where more than 90% of the population is contaminated.
"This compromise text will restore a deeply damaged confidence," said MP PS author of the proposal.
