Chinese Car Firm Chery to Open European Headquarters in Liverpool
Chery Commercial Vehicle’s Liverpool HQ will create high-value engineering and R&D jobs while supporting innovation and localization in Europe’s expanding electric vehicle market.
- Chery Commercial Vehicle announced Liverpool as the site of its first European headquarters, which will serve as the central hub for its research, engineering, innovation, and commercial development in Europe.
- Liverpool offers a skilled workforce and sits at the heart of a strong automotive cluster, with Liverpool City Council and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority working closely with Chery to secure the investment.
- Serving as a demo hub, the HQ will host joint ventures and new energy showcases, creating high-value engineering, software development, R&D and operational roles for the local workforce.
- Cllr Liam Robinson told the ECHO, `This is really positive news for the city, because Chery Commercial Vehicles, which is a Chinese manufacturer of commercial vehicles has decided to choose Liverpool as its first European headquarters.`
