Chinese refiners suspend October fuel exports, sources say
Chinese refiners have suspended exports of oil products to regions beyond Hong Kong and Macau until further notice from Beijing, four people briefed on the matter said on Thursday, a move that will further tighten fuel markets.
China, one of the largest exporters of petroleum products, stopped exporting fuel for the second time this year. Consumers will have to search for goods in India and the US, increasing competition with Europe.
Buyers were not given further details, including the exact reason for the cancellations.
