- A prevailing subtropical high-pressure system over central and eastern China caused the summer monsoon to shift north, resulting in elevated temperatures and higher humidity levels.
- Temperatures are forecast to surpass 40 degrees Celsius in 34 districts of Chongqing and exceed 38 degrees in multiple districts in Chengdu that afternoon.
- Meteorologist Zhu Dingzhen emphasized that it is too early to conclude that the recent changes indicate a trend toward warmer and more humid conditions, as natural variability plays a significant role; he stressed the importance of long-term observation to accurately assess climate patterns.
