China executes 11 members of Myanmar scam mafia: State media

On Thursday, China executed 11 people linked to Myanmar-based gangs in Wenzhou city after their death sentences in September, Xinhua reported.
The Ming family criminal gang ran Laukkaing and the Crouching Tiger Villa, employing 10,000 people and earning more than 10bn yuan between 2015 and 2023.
Court records show the defendants were convicted of intentional homicide, unlawful detention, and fraud, causing 14 Chinese citizens' deaths and a fatal October 2023 shooting incident.
Beijing increased cooperation with Southeast Asian neighbours, repatriating more than 7,600 people last year from Myawaddy, while Myanmar authorities detained and handed over Ming family members in 2023 and Cambodia extradited Chen Zhi earlier this month.
