The press service of the Holy See reported that on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, the episcopal ordination of Father Andrew Ding Yan took place, who was appointed by the Holy Father on July 28, 2026 as Archbishop of Chongqing (Chongqing Municipality, China). This nomination is approved under the Interim Agreement between the Holy See and the People's Republic of China.
