China delivers world's fastest 46,100-ton self-unloader for iron ore

China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) delivered the first of five massive self-unloading ore carriers for Rio Tinto’s Simandou iron ore project in Guinea on July 21. Named Wontanara, the newly built vessel is expected to play a key role in moving iron ore from shallow coastal waters to large bulk carriers waiting offshore.
