Sara Cox 'Can't Walk' as She Shares Tough Admission After Children In Need Challenge

Sara Cox completed five marathons in five days across northern England, raising over £10 million for Children In Need, the BBC charity.

  • Joining Scott Mills on his November 17 show, Sara Cox revealed her fundraising total for Children In Need reached 10169084, after completing her marathon challenge.
  • On the five-day route she traversed over 135 miles across Northumberland, Durham, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire, completing five marathons in five days and finishing in Pudsey, West Yorkshire with Pudsey Bear.
  • Cox said recovery was much tougher after the event and joked about wrestling swollen feet into Crocs, while Stormzy sent a congratulatory voice note and his music sustained her.
  • The programme will be on BBC iPlayer from 6am on Wednesday, November 19, and around £35,000 was raised from spectators donating into buckets along the route.
  • Following the challenge, Sara Cox, BBC Radio 2 presenter, is due to present The Marvellous Miniatures Workshop, while social media users called for a dame honour and local communities and Radio 2 fans supported her throughout.
