Child dies, others injured after car rolls
A school-aged child died and six others were injured after a vehicle rolled over near Bacchus Marsh in Parwan, west of Melbourne. Victorian Police confirmed the single-vehicle crash occurred just before 4pm.
Emergency services received reports of the crash near the Nerowie and Parwan-Exford roads intersection just before 4pm. The single-vehicle incident prompted immediate response from multiple specialist crews.
One child died at the scene while a second was airlifted to the Royal Children Hospital with critical injuries. Five additional children and one woman were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Ambulance Victoria deployed specialist crews including two Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance teams and five Advanced Life Support paramedic crews. Air Ambulance Victoria helicopter crews also responded to the incident.
Victorian Police continue investigating the circumstances of the rollover at the Parwan intersection. The priority remains providing comprehensive care to all patients hospitalized following the incident.
