A candidate for municipal elections in La Courneuve, MP LFI was sentenced to 500 euros with a suspended fine and 3,000 euros in damages. The court ordered the immediate withdrawal of his comments from social networks. Aly Diouara announced that he would appeal.
Two weeks after accusing his socialist opponents Oumarou Doucouré and Stéphane Troussel – the president of the department – of having bought voices by distributing money and food, the unsubstantiated candidate to the municipalities in La Courneuve (Seine-Saint-Denis), Aly Diouara, was found guilty of public defamation by the 17th Correctional Chamber of the Paris Court. He appealed.
The candidate LFI at the town hall of La Courneuve was sentenced to 500 euros with a suspended fine for defamation against his socialist rival Oumarou Doucouré, whom he accused of "clientelistic practices" by offering pieces of chicken or envelopes of money to the inhabitants.
