Chicago Police officer faces suspension over marijuana test, not firing

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, JUL 24 – Marshall Andrews received a three-month suspension, reflecting Illinois' 2020 cannabis legalization and the department's updated drug policy for officers, police board members said.

“Officers who use cannabis are no longer violating a law they swore to uphold,” the board," stated the Chicago Police Board in its determination.
