Chatham softball overcomes first inning deficit, advances to Class B state final

BINGHAMTON — The Chatham softball team overcame its toughest opening inning of the season Friday to beat Section 8 Carle Place 6-3 in a Class B semifinal game.

Alexa Mifsud scored on Marissa Nosovitch's sacrifice fly to give the Frogs a 1-0 lead and Isabella Roman scored on a wild pitch to extend the lead to 3-0 in the first inning.

Chatham softball advances to state final

Chatham will now play Section V’s Haverling in Saturday's Class B championship game.
