OpenAI's Irish branch on Saturday sent an email to users of the "Free" and "Go" plans of its artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT in the European Economic Area (EEA), which includes Lithuania and Switzerland, informing them that ads will begin appearing on the platform later this month.
It's been months since OpenAI tested the display of advertisements on the free ChatGPT version in the United States. And, soon, it will also extend to France. The display of advertisements will allow OpenAI to improve its financial situation. Indeed, even though ChatGPT has already crossed the billion users, OpenAI does not yet make any profits.
