GO Trains Dropping From 15 to 4 Trips on some GTA Routes This Fa
Weekend and evening rail changes will cut some trips, add replacement buses and restore service to post-secondary schools as Metrolinx aligns schedules with demand.
Starting Saturday, Metrolinx will adjust GO train and bus service across the Lakeshore East, Lakeshore West, Barrie, and Stouffville lines, though rush hour rail service will remain unchanged.
Metrolinx stated these changes allow for "recovery from high ridership demands during FIFA" and address train crew availability while advancing infrastructure work on the Barrie and Stouffville lines.
Weekend service on the Lakeshore East and West lines returns to every 30 minutes, while Barrie and Stouffville lines face evening and weekend trip reductions; replacement bus service 65, 68, and 71 will operate.
Bus service to post-secondary schools resumes Saturday with increased trips on routes 15, 25, and 56, while seasonal service to Canada's Wonderland, Toronto Zoo, and 25K has ended.
These interim measures are expected to continue until spring 2027, according to Metrolinx, and customers are urged to visit the official website for updated schedules.
