Minnesota weather: Oppressive heat Friday ahead of strong late night storms

A heat advisory is in effect across much of Minnesota on Friday, with strong storms possible later in the night.

Chances of storms heading into Friday night

Highs stay in the low 80s on Friday and mostly cloudy skies will be overhead. Strong to severe storms are expected to fire up in eastern Minnesota in the evening and move west overnight. As they move west, they will weaken but still bring some thunder and lightning, along with heavy rain possible to the Duluth area by late night.
