Nebraska Man Arrested After Driving More than 160 Mph, Multiple Pursuits with Troopers
Troopers said the driver fled a stop for speeding, was clocked at 160 mph and was later arrested at his home.
- On Wednesday night, Nebraska State Patrol troopers arrested 20-year-old Nathanael Campbell of Ceresco following a high-speed pursuit in which his BMW exceeded 160 mph on Interstate 80.
- The incident began around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday when a trooper patrolling near the Lincoln Airport exit observed the BMW traveling over 95 mph in a 65 mph zone, prompting the pursuit.
- Troopers discontinued the initial chase due to safety concerns before relocating the vehicle on Cornhusker Highway and deploying stop sticks near Highway 77 and Agnew Road.
- After Campbell abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot, authorities identified him through documents left in the car and arrested him at his Ceresco residence around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
- Campbell was booked into the Lancaster County Jail on charges including flight to avoid arrest, obstructing a peace officer, and second-offense willful reckless driving.
