The signing of Portugal's accession to the European Economic Community (EEC) was signed this Friday-to-morrow for 40 years at a historic time on 12 June 1985 at the Jeronimos Museum in Lisbon.

L der parliamentarian and candidate to lead the party, Mariana Leit, considered Portugal's entry into the Union to be a "rich moment".

The national leaders, the President of the European Council and the former President of the Commission, said that Portugal should remain "on the first line of European construction", with a common defence priority today.
