A Century Correctional Institution inmate assaulted a correctional officer, according to the Florida Department of Corrections. Inmate Angel Galarza assaulted a correctional officer by throwing a cup of unknown liquid at them, FDC said. Galarza was serving a 25-year sentence for a 2024 Polk County conviction for first degree murder. He was set for release in 2047.
