Government Clears ₹417-Crore Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Uttar Pradesh Under EMC Scheme
- On June 25, 2025, the Union Government gave approval for a ₹417 crore project to establish a new electronics manufacturing hub under the EMC 2.0 initiative in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh.
- The approval follows the EMC 2.0 scheme notification in April 2020, aiming to boost local electronic manufacturing and align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision.
- The 200-acre cluster, developed by Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, is strategically located near major expressways, Jewar Airport, and surrounded by industrial parks.
- IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the project will generate 15,000 jobs and attract ₹2,500 crore in investments, reflecting focus on job creation and infrastructure.
- Officials were instructed to collaborate with the Uttar Pradesh government to ensure timely execution, with funds to be disbursed by April 2028.
