Central African Republic's President Faustin-Archange Touadera said on Saturday he will run for a third term later this year, seeking to extend his rule into a second decade after scrapping term limits in 2023.
Five months before the general elections scheduled for December, the ruling United Heart Movement (UCM) held its second ordinary congress of the year in Bangui. The aim was to invest its candidates and prepare the campaign. President Touadera was appointed there to run for a new term of office, made possible by the new Constitution.
The President of the Central African Republic announced on Saturday 26 July that he would run for a third term in the elections scheduled for December.
