AKP spokesman Omer Celik made harsh statements on the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean, stressing that Turkey will not accept "messages" through a show of force and that commitment to diplomacy should not be perceived as weakness. At the same time, he criticized the US for extending the lifting of the arms embargo on the Republic of Cyprus, reiterating support for the interests of Turkish Cypriots.
