How Many People Tuned Into Celebrity Traitors UK Launch
The 75-minute opener peaked just over 9 million viewers and drew a nearly 55% share, the broadcaster said.
On Thursday, the second season of The Celebrity Traitors launched on BBC One with a record-breaking 8.9 million viewers, marking the biggest opening for any Traitors series in the U.K.
The premiere drew 3 million more viewers than last year's inaugural debut, with host Claudia Winkleman guiding 21 celebrity contestants competing for up to £100,000 in the Scottish Highlands.
Actor Richard E. Grant caused chaos during the 75-minute opener by accidentally confessing to being a Traitor; executive producer Sarah Fay called it unprecedented, saying "we've never had anything like that happen before."
Securing an audience share of nearly 55%, the episode became the second most-watched program of 2026 excluding sport, airing Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. on BBC One and iPlayer.
The fifth season of the civilian Traitors is scheduled to premiere early next year, cementing the BBC's status as a dominant entertainment force with multiple franchise iterations.
