£35,000 CCTV upgrade across Basildon to improve reliability and tackle crime

A new CCTV software upgrade has been greenlighted by Basildon Council to futureproof the district's security at a cost of almost £35,000.

CCTV coverage has ‘improved’

Councillors have said improvements have been made to the way CCTV is monitored, but more could be done. Coun Ingrid Sheard was among those who recently visited the control room in Boston where the cameras are observed. It followed a previous visit in 2022.
